In Shylock , a co-production with our fellow San José artists at  The Tabard Theatre Company, a Jewish actor playing Shakespeare’s notorious money-lender as a villain attracts unwelcome protests and controversy at a Shakespeare festival. The actor’s contentious production of  The Merchant of Venice  has just been shut down, and Shylock presents the actor holding a talkback session to defend his work.

Join us as we spend two exciting weeks exploring the entire playmaking experience—from acting to costuming to hair/makeup, set design to props, lighting to music—all within the framework of an abridged Shakespeare play.

Open to students aged 8 – 18 and located anywhere in the world, our online camp allows students to dive deeper into different theatre disciplines with an engaging mix of live online instruction and independent projects. On the final day of camp, students will present a final project in their chosen area of focus with a showcase video shared during a live online viewing party with family and friends.

Not familiar with Shakespeare? Not to worry! Students of all experience levels are welcome! And, as always, generous scholarships are available.
