What are our interns saying?

Eden Rousso,
2014 Acting Intern

Role: Kitty Bennet in Pride and Prejudice

“I would have to say that being an acting intern for SVS has been an awesome experience! The level of professionalism and focus, yet the fun vibe of the cast, was such a blessing. I must admit that I was intimidated at the first few rehearsals but eventually the cast became like family. The entire creative team was great! I definitely felt like I learned a lot at the monologue workshop—they gave me a new approach to a monologue I am very familiar with. Fixing my resume was very useful and the head shots are PHENOMENAL”

Keenan Flagg,
2014 Acting Intern

Role: Ensign Denny in Pride and Prejudice

“I’d say that best part about the Internship Program was discovering the nuances of performing in an outdoor theatre space. There’s something beautiful about being part of an ensemble on stage while the sun sets around you, replaced, of course, by the performance lights. That feeling, coupled with the opportunity to watch and act alongside many other fantastic performers—regulars and students alike—are what made the program for me.”

Taylor Wiley,
2016 Technical Theatre Intern

Roles: Georgiana Darcy/Anne de Bourgh in Pride and Prejudice

“Being part of Silicon Valley Shakespeare’s Internship Program was an incredibly fun and rewarding experience. Because of SVS, I not only got the opportunity to work with professional actors, but also improved my own acting skills and learned to study my character in ways I had never thought to before. Through the workshops I learned invaluable techniques in hairstyling and stage make-up, and later received pointers for auditioning and how to improve my resume. Working with SVS was fulfilling and highly educational, and I walked away with new-found knowledge and new-found friends.”

Alex Draa,
2014 Acting Intern

Roles: Cassio in Othello

“The summer internship program was an amazing experience. To be able to work with such talented actors and learn from some incredible people was a huge gift. It was great to be a part of something so invigorating, and I’m so happy I made countless friends and colleagues in the process.”
