Silicon Valley Shakespeare’s Advisory Council board serves a vital role in the development and management of our company. Council members make significant and sustained contributions which help fulfill the company’s mission and provide advice to the Company’s Board on strategic, operational, and financial directions for the organization. The Advisory Council has up to 20 members who are selected for their distinction in relevant professions. They are private-, public- and government-sector leaders who share a passion for the Company, and offer a wide array of perspectives and experiences. Dinna Myers is the Director of Marketing for Musson Theatrical in Santa Clara. She also served on the North American Regional Board of PLASA for over a decade. She holds a degree in Theatre Arts from San José State University, and co-founded Shady Shakespeare (now Silicon Valley Shakespeare) in 1999. Having left the company in 2015, she now resides in Gisborne, New Zealand.
Art Director Paul Hightower has been producing branding and marketing creative for the past 20 years. He’s managed countless projects for a host of technology and non-tech clients including Adobe, Cisco, FAMSF, HP, Microsoft, Montalvo, Visa, and, of course, Silicon Valley Shakespeare. His background includes tenures at local ad agencies plus his freelance consultancy Studio H. Paul received his B.S. in Graphic Design from San José State University. He resides in Pleasant Hill, CA.
Kevin is a Consulting Technical Adviser for Oracle Corporation’s Center of Expertise. He has been Technical Director for various Silicon Valley Shakespeare productions since 2000 and has been a member of the Board since 2001. In 2010, Kevin retired from the Board of Directors and moved to the Advisory Council. He resides in San Mateo, Ca.
Ross Arden Harkness
Ross is a Security Management Professional working in the greater Bay Area. Also an actor and director, he has worked with many theater groups in the area including Silicon Valley Shakespeare (SVS). Ross is a former Managing Director for SVS, and holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Management from the University of Phoenix. He resides in Manteca, California.
Randy is a Theatre Consultant and partner with Pantechnicon LLC, a leading theatre consulting and design firm in San Jose. He has dozens of theatre consulting projects including work for public and private schools, universities, municipal governments and arts producing organizations since 1976. Randy graduated from Purdue University with an M.A. in Theatre Design and Technology. He came to San Jose State University in 1970 where had a thirty-eight year career as Professor of Theatre Arts with service as Technical Director, Head of Theatre Arts program, and lighting designer in the Department of Television, Radio, Film and Theatre. For the United States Institute for Theatre Technology where he served in a number of offices including President and was elected a Fellow. Currently, Randy is Chair of the USITT Fellows and a key member of the Grants and Fellowships Committee.
